Number of Risks Associated with Cloud Technology

Cloud computing is one of the highly dependable technology solutions claimed by the service provider. However, recent hacking attacks clouds of Apple Inc. and Sony pushed back many companies from adopting cloud technology. However, the recent disclaimer of former U.S. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld lots of negativity is circulated in the business market. To clarify things on cloud computing Dubai so that companies stop believing on risks often linked to cloud technology.

Risk No. 1: clouds work on shared access:
One of the prominent features of public cloud is multi-tenancy which means that multiple users share the same computing resources, such as, memory, the physical building, memory storage and CPU. Multi-tenancy is now very common concept, where the risk of confidential information sharing always presents. Not only can this, but exploitation and accidental information sharing happen at any point. Because one flaw can automatically make the whole cloud where other clients can also suffer from data breaches.

There are several issues that may rise because of multitenancy, although, researchers have been able to recover other tenant’s data and move it to another “New Storage” space. New security measures are discovered to protect data stored on public clouds that have reduced the risk factor significantly.

However, with time issues and risks associated with the shared approach are explored and given significant importance that has helped companies overcome data breach issues with multitenancy. The best example of this kind is a web server, where one website is placed with thousands other, unrelated websites.

Risk No. 2: Virtual exploitation:
Another significant risk associated with cloud computing Dubai is its virtual exploitation. Generally, every large cloud service provider is an important user of virtualization.  However, it associates it with many other risks caused by physical machines, its own created threats, including external exploits that target virtual server hosts and its guests. There are four types of virtual exploits than can happen on clouds, such as guest to guest, guest to host, server host only and host to guest.

However, these exploits can happen because most managements never see any vulnerability in their system and they bypass this can happen to their virtual server. But if they consider virtual exploits seriously and check their own virtualization software vendor patch list and other virtual management tools than they can easily reduce risks.

Risk No 3: Availability
For customers of public cloud computing Dubai, it is impossible to deal with redundancy and faultiness. Usually, back-end details are not shared with the customers. It is completely opaque for the customer. Customers are provided with the technical coverage service as well, however, they find them hopeless when service interruptions happen again and again.

The customer becomes more concerned when they lost access to their data and sometimes never get the recovery. In most situations, cloud service provider gives a guarantee of 100% backup after the crash, but lots of data can never recover. To avoid such situations, often companies are recommended to keep an in-house backup, and in some cases cloud service providers provide this backup. This way they can reduce the risk of data loss.
